about

Torc is a series of short sketches exploring sequenced digital resonator feedback networks.

Resembling the twisted, spiralling arcs of Iron Age Celtic neck and arm rings, these sketches are variously made from simple single tones or more complex ribboned strands spun together through patterns of damping and clamping, flickering and flaring.

In engineering terms Torque is also the measure of rate of change of angular momentum, a displacement vector and a force vector causing an object to rotate or twist about an axis, represented here by the tension and balance of rotational sequencing of parameters of pitch, damping, brightness and more.

Summed up in a haiku:

A feedback network
with sequenced parameters
flickers and pulses
